Got this from Trina the other day.
We’re going down the DIY route to save some pennies. Should the unthinkable happen, the stiff will be shoved in a sleeping bag and then wrapped in bin bags and gaffa tapped up. The bin bags will have to be pretty heavy duty to keep the juices from seeping out. Wouldn’t want to clean that up in a heavy sea!
Note to self, must download Weekend at Bernies.
Pete sent us this the other day http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6002523/A-British-couple-hitching-yacht-turned-tale-horror.html cheers Pete!!! 😀
I’ve been pestered by my folks to get a will, as apparently it avoids my estate going to probate thus delaying the process. Despite my parents being the only benefactors of my estate, they don’t wish to have any delays in the dealings. Impatient buggers!
I caught up with some peeps in the week. Each time I think I’m leaving London something pops up and I manage to squeeze in a few more drinks.
Bloody love this photo!
and another one…
OC made up some 3d printed custom water and fuel cap keys as a leaving present.Very thoughtful, very kind as always! Cheers OC! We have to use a pair of pliers to open the current ones, so once we get some time we’ll swap these over.
Dentists and Vaccinations
Our todo list has mostly been concerned with the boat, but now we’re getting close to departure we’ve had to turn our attention to ourselves.
Margaret my hygienist was shocked to hear about the trip, and horrified to hear I couldn’t swim. I’ve promised I’ll come back and see her in a year.
I’ve had to review my vaccinations. Last time I did this trip back in 2012 I used Nomad Travel Clinic, but seeing as they’ve lost all my records I’ve switched The London Travel Clinic. For this trip I’m covered for:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
On another note Trina’s getting up together the medical kit. Trina’s friend who’s a A+E consultant wrote a prescription of drugs for our trip. For anyone looking to upgrade their med kit for a trip like this, we’ve been prescribed:
- Codeine phosphate
..and Super Drug can do the whole lot for under £100, but Boots wanted to charge over £350!
We’ve also purchased this:
Last trip home
Down to the last drop of fuel in the Punto that keeps overheating, I ferried the last of our worldly goods back home to my folks early one Sunday morning to the sound of Gloria Estafan and The Greatest Hits of 91.
After parking up the Punto for the last time, I did my last walk around the village and had a few drinks at the local.
Strangely I’m already looking forward to coming back home for a roast dinner in a years time.
